Bayern Munich could be looking at a significant change to its starting XI for the second leg of its Champions League tie with Real Madrid on Wednesday as Serge Gnabry might not be able to go.
Gnabry is dealing with a knee issue and could be replaced by head coach Vincent Kompany with Jamal Musiala per Tz journalists Philipp Kessler and Mano Bonke (as captured by @iMiaSanMia):
Jamal Musiala could replace Serge Gnabry in the starting lineup against Real Madrid on Wednesday. Gnabry (knee problems) had
a light session on the pitch yesterday – and depending on his recovery, Musiala is the first alternative to replace him in the #10 role behind Harry Kane on Wednesday.
The chemistry between Gnabry and the front three of Harry Kane, Michael Olise, and Luis Díaz has been incredibly good this season, so Musiala will have some major shoes to fill. The youngster did have a strong performance against St. Pauli during Bayern Munich’s 5-0 win as he tallied a goal and an assist, but Real Madrid is not St. Pauli.
Surely, Bayern Munich will hope that Musiala can build off that weekend success in hopes of helping clinch a spot in the UCL semifinals.
Bayern Munich leads Real Madrid 2-1 on aggregate.
