Good morning, New York Giants fans! Here are the stories you need to as the Giants get set to face the last place Philadelphia Eagles.
John Harbaugh pushing all the right buttons for Giants | ESPN.com
Accountability is vital in Harbaugh’s program. This is crucial because it was considered a shortcoming of former coach Brian Daboll and how he led the team. These new Giants are at a point where it’s acceptable and common during team meetings for Harbaugh or his assistants to call out individuals for mistakes during practice or games.
“I would say some of [my coaches]
have handled it like Harbaugh, some of them haven’t. It really just depends on your coaching style and how you want to handle it,” veteran offensive lineman Aaron Stinnie said. “But I think guys are taking really good to it and like it. I think it helps. It helps keep everyone accountable and stay on the same page. There’s definitely a way to do it and he does a good job of having it in a constructive manner. Just being upfront and honest. Everything is transparency.”

Why a Jonathan Taylor trade to NY Giants would make sense right now | The Record
With John Harbaugh as the face of the franchise, the shot caller of all football decisions, the New York Giants will never punt opportunities that present themselves.
And this, where they are at the moment, certainly constitutes an opportunity that few if any Giants saw coming.
Blockbuster incoming? All signs point to Giants making splash ahead of NFL trade deadline | The Athletic
The first-place Giants won’t be sellers, so any trade would likely involve a player who has fallen out of favor. Center John Michael Schmitz lost his starting job to Bryan Hudson in Week 4. Schmitz provides depth at an important position, but a center-needy team could offer a Day 3 pick for the 2023 second-round pick in the final year of his contract.
Safety Tyler Nubin is another recent second-round pick who appears to be on the verge of losing his starting job. Nubin has been a disappointment in New York, but he could be a buy-low option for a team that liked him in the 2024 draft. Defensive tackle Darius Alexander is yet another recent Day 2 pick who could be available as his role has been diminished. The 2025 third-round pick has essentially become unplayable against the run, and he could be made even more expendable if the Giants trade for a defensive tackle.
We’re about to find out just how different these Giants are with chance to end ugly Eagles history | New York Post
What comes next is not the most severe football challenge but it is an emotional and psychological hurdle, considering what the rival Eagles have inflicted upon the Giants and their fans for more than a decade.
“Philly is a very raucous atmosphere to play in, the fans are super similar to our fans up here,’’ said guard Jon Runyan Jr. “The only difference is they’ve had something to cheer about the last couple of years recently. I’m hoping the tables turn a little bit. I feel like they have. It’s up to us to go down there and take care of business. I think we have what we need. We split with them last year so I think we’re building in the right direction.’’

John Harbaugh rejects inheriting Giants’ road losing streak vs. Eagles | USAToday.com
When asked about the Giants’ 13-game losing streak in Philadelphia dating to 2013, Harbaugh dismissed any notion that the current team inherits that history. He used an analogy about rejecting an unwanted burden.
“I’m trying to think of the analogy because inherit is an interesting word,” Harbaugh said. “You’re sitting there, you’re sitting at one of those, I’ve only seen them on movies where they all go into the lawyer’s office and they read the will, right? What would that be akin to, a 13-game losing streak that you inherit? Yeah, you can say like, no thanks, that’s what I would probably say is like. I’d say like, I’m not up for that, so I’m going to say no thanks to that. Yeah, I didn’t know that, and I probably didn’t need to know that. Yeah, we don’t care, we don’t care about that.”
2026 midseason rookie grades | CBSSports.com
5. Arvell Reese, LB, Giants: A+. Remember all those concerns about Reese’s pro day workout? Seven months later and he’s one of the easiest evaluations in the class because he’s doing exactly what made him such an exciting prospect at Ohio State. Instincts, range, and insane athleticism, while learning on the job, have all made him an immediate difference-maker, and Giants coaches have praised how quickly he’s hit the ground running.
10. Francis Mauigoa, OG, Giants: C+. The move from college tackle to NFL guard hasn’t been seamless, but Mauigoa has steadily gotten better. His athleticism and ability to move defenders in the running game stood out at Miami, although he occasionally struggled with balance and hand placement. Those issues have followed him inside, but his improved pass protection, especially vs. Houston in Week 7, was encouraging.
