The Chargers opened Week 10 prep for the Steelers with an injury report that fortunately fell short of double-digits, but not by much. Nine players graced Wednesday’s report in all with offensive tackle Bobby Hart and cornerback Tarheeb Still as the headliners, both of whom were non-participants in practice.
Both Khalil Mack and Keenan Allen were also DNPs, although those were simply much-deserved veteran days off.
Of the remaining five players on the report, offensive guard Mekhi Becton (knee), defensive
line Da’Sahwn hand (groin), and safety Tony Jefferson (hamstring) were limited. Hand also had his 21-day window activated to return from IR.
Cornerback Deane Leonard and long snapper Josh Harris were both full participants with knee and chest injuries, respectively.
The Chargers defense is on track to get multiple starters back this week in time to face a Steelers team in primetime following their notable win over the AFC-leading Colts in Week Nine. Hand has been on IR for the past month while Jefferson has missed the past two games.
