The Pittsburgh Steelers have been rumored to be interested in adding another wide receiver throughout the offseason. After trading George Pickens to the Dallas Cowboys, they’ve had a hole opposite DK Metcalf in terms of a proven No. 2 receiver.
Several names have come across the rumor mill. Chris Olave, Terry McLaurin, and Gabe Davis among others in terms of a trade or free agent acquisition. Now, a new name has become prevalent in trade discussions.
Per Andrew Fillipponi of 93.7 The Fan, Indianapolis
Colts deep threat Alec Pierce is available for the right price.
“Rumor: Colts WR Alec Pierce is on the trade block. Final year of contract,” Filliponi reports on X. “[He]led the NFL in yards per catch and had 8 TDs last season. Steelers should make that call ASAP. He would be legit #2. Trade a 4th and Cory Trice Jr.”
Pierce averaged an astounding 22.3 yards per catch in 2024 and caught eight touchdowns, as Fillipponi pointed out. Should the Steelers be able to land him, it’s a no-brainer.
