Hansi Flick spoke about how his team lacked freshness in the wake of defeats to PSG and Real Madrid
and is being tipped to shake up his team on Saturday against Alaves.Barcelona’s players will have had a week without a game by the time kick-off comes around but the fixture does come ahead of important tests against Aston Villa and Atletico Madrid. Barcelona have also been hit hard by injuries to defenders, meaning Flick lacks option at the back.
According to Diario Sport, Flick is considering making
changes and could hand Gavi a start. The midfielder has only played 146 minutes this season so far in La Liga and will be raring to go.
Frenkie de Jong also looks in line for more game time after making his comeback from injury against Real Madrid, while Marc Bernal is also an option as Flick looks to manage the minutes of both Rodri and Pedri
Gabriel Jesus and Karim Adeyemi are also being tipped to start the match, although there is less chance of changes in defence due to the injury situation.
Alejandro Balde looks set to start at left-back, but Flick will be without Andreas Christensen, Eric Garcia, Xavi Espart and potentially also Jules Kounde due to injury.
