Alex Pereira will be one of the biggest stars on the UFC’s upcoming White House card this weekend in Washington D.C., which is why “Poatan” will walk away with a monstrous payday.
This weekend is a massive opportunity for each and every fighter competing at the Freedom 250 event, but there’s even more at stake for Pereira. The former UFC middleweight and light heavyweight champion is not only moving up for his long-awaited heavyweight debut, but “Poatan” will have the chance to win his third separate
UFC title. That has never been done before in UFC history and if Pereira is able to accomplish that feat against Ciryl Gane some believe he’ll pass Jon Jones as the best fighter off all time.
Maybe that’s why UFC officials are handing over a large bag of cash for Pereira to compete this weekend on the White House lawn.
Earlier this week, UFC color commentator and former double champion Daniel Cormier sat down with Pereira for a one-on-one interview. While speaking with Pereira, “DC” revealed that the UFC superstar is expected to earn $10 million for his Freedom 250 appearance. That is a huge payout for Pereira, who is likely the biggest name on the card given the history he’s chasing.
Check out Cormier’s interview below and let us know if this is too much or too little for Pereira!
“He’s the only fighter at the White House making $10 million,” said Cormier while trying to make a side bet with Pereira. “Not me.”
