Here is your weekly OpenThread (or semi weekly depend on whether I post one on any given week. This was an idea suggest by the PTB here at SB Nation, and it is good for a Friday when there isn’t much I want to write about and when there is no Jays news.
Use the thread to discuss anything you want, maybe this interview with Mets’ closer Luke Weaver. I’d imagine the phrase ‘pressurized failure mindset’ hasn’t been used in a post game interview before (though Babe Ruth had quite the way
with a phrase).
It is nice there are teams doing worse than the Jays.
Someone on Twitter asked if Jays’ fans where taking joy in Bo Bichette struggles? Quick answer for me is no. I have been a fan of Bo’s for a long time, that doesn’t change because he is a Met. I hope the best for him, except for when he plays against the Jays. I didn’t want the Jays to sign him to a long term contract because I have fears that he won’t age well. But he’s only 28 now and he should still be in his prime.
But Bo has always been a streak hitter. He’s, on occasion, started slow and still ended up with a good season. And sometimes he’s started hot and finished slow. He tends to end up around the same general area for stats. Will this year be the same? I hope so.
