The opening match of tonight’s (Sept. 30) special tribute to PAC on Dynamite saw Jon Moxley defend the AEW Continental championship against Orange Cassidy.
One of the most interesting sequences of the bout saw Moxley humor Cassidy’s shtick by doing the lazy kicks. However, putting his hands in his pockets was still a bridge too far for the leader of the Death Riders.
Both men tried to use PAC’s Brutalizer submission
to win the match, but it was ultimately the champ who prevailed.
Bryan Danielson’s music began to play soon after the match was over. The American Dragon was indeed in the building in Pittsburgh. Bryan stepped back inside an AEW ring in a very emotional scene where he hugged it out and cried with the man who ended his career nearly two years ago.
