The Wisconsin Badgers have been on a recruiting tear in the 2027 cycle under head coach Greg Gard, as they recently landed four-star wing/forward Baboucarr Ann.
Ann, a 6’5, 180-pound wing, is the No. 1 recruit in the state of Minnesota and the No. 40 overall player in the 2027 class according to Rivals. He’s also got a strong rating on the 247Sports composite rankings, coming in as a top-65 recruit.
He’s the third commitment for the Badgers in the 2027 class, joining four-star in-state guard Jalen
Brown and three-star center Jack Thelen. Brown had been a major target for Wisconsin in the class, and he became the highest-rated guard to commit to the Badgers in the internet rankings era.
With those three commitments, Wisconsin has the No. 2 overall class in the 2027 cycle. While that likely won’t last throughout the cycle, it’s a testament to the work that Gard and his staff have done with top targets.
Well, the Badgers aren’t just focused on the 2027 class. They’ve also been scouting targets in the 2028 class and they recently extended an offer to Illinois forward Cole Kelly, a top-40 recruit in the cycle.
Kelly, the No. 2 recruit in the state of Illinois, plays for Neuqua Valley, and has garnered interest from Purdue, Creighton, Ohio State, Illinois, Iowa, Indiana, and Nebraska, among other schools.
Kelly had been up to campus this week, where he got his offer from Wisconsin. Now, the Badgers will look to position themselves in the mix for one of the top recruits in the junior class.
There will surely be some blue-blood interest for Kelly, but it’s notable that the Badgers extended an offer this week.
