For the first time in over two decades, the NFC East had back to back winners. Can the Philadelphia Eagles three peat? The rest of the division seems to be trying their best to help them.
Washington Commanders Football Team
It is basically impossible to make LSU football look sympathetic in 2026. Jayden Daniels did it.
Adam Peters signed four 32 year olds, a 31 year old, and two 30 year olds in August alone
.Last year the Commanders went 0-3 in the preseason, finishing with a 30-3 loss to the Ravens, and then went 5-12 (in honor of Jayden
Daniels). This year they went 1-2 in the preseason, with their win being against a Dolphins team that is not even trying to look like they’re trying, and finished with a 41-3 loss to the Ravens.
Their weak OL is already depleted. LT Laremy Tunsil is out for most of the year, and C Nick Allegretti got hurt on day one of camp and hasn’t practiced since.
The Commanders have said that they have no plans to bring back the old Redskins name or logo, but last week started selling merchandise with the Redskins name and (part of the) logo. It sold out in two days.
Most teams get better as training camp progresses. Washington got off on the wrong foot and went downhill from there.
New York Giants
Jaxson Dart doesn’t understand why every time he takes a hit that makes you wonder if he’s okay, which has become his signature move, that he has to go to the blue tent.
Malik Nabers is totally fine, he just left practice early, which wasn’t planned, because he felt like it? He’s feeling good but we’ll see if he plays Week 1, he might have a schedule conflict or something? Nothing to see here.
Cam Skattebo is getting penalized during practice. Practice.
This is the year 2026 and Odell Beckham is on a roster.
Speaking of, new boat pic just dropped:
The Giants have some potentially fun players but the best entertainment they offer this year might be John Harbaugh’s exasperated reactions as his mediocre and dumb roster consistently fails him.
Dallas Cowboys
Dak Prescott said the Cowboys is “the Greatest Offense There Is.” They were 7th in scoring last year. He may not know what any of the words he said actually mean. The reaction to this proclamation was that people mostly laughed if off.
That pretty much sums up the state of the Cowboys. It wasn’t that long ago that the Cowboys could sign some washed up depth player and then every screaming head TV show would spend half an hour asking themselves if this was the piece that would finally put the Cowboys over the top. Now we just shrug and move on to the next thing. It’s one thing to be mediocre, which, after back to back 7 win seasons, the Cowboys are. It’s another to be irrelevant.
Philadelphia Eagles
The defense looks like it’s going to be very, very good. The offense? Eh.
The starting QB is using ChatGPT for Stuart Smalley daily affirmations.
I am not saying that I can throw a bowling ball farther than Andy Dalton can throw a football, but watching Dalton it feels like I can throw a bowling ball farther than Dalton can throw a football. Dalton doesn’t matter though, he’s either gone by the time the season starts or if he plays then things are going pretty poorly and there’s plenty of larger problems.
What does matter is that the Eagles have an AJ Brown sized hole to replace and no one has stepped up to fill it this summer. If the Cowboys, Giants, or Commanders were looking at Dontayvion Wicks, whose most productive season was his 39 catch, 581 yard rookie season three years ago; a 1st round pick who missed basically all of camp with injury; Hollywood Brown, who the Chiefs didn’t bring back; and a UDFA who caught nine passes last year… we’d be clowning them. Zach Ertz won’t fix anything. This time three years ago, Sean Mannion was sitting on his couch hoping someone would call him for a practice squad gig. Now he’s got to make this work.
