What is the story about?

The Jets were active this offseason trying to upgrade a roster that finished 3-14 in 2025. The team owned four of the top 50 selections in the 2026 NFL Draft. Prior to the Draft, the team was also active in free agency and the trade market, hoping to add veteran experience to a young roster.

Last week in our SB Nation Reacts survey, we asked you which veteran addition would play best for the team in the upcoming 2026 campaign. The results are in.

I have to admit I am a bit surprised by the results.

I fully expected Minkah Fitzpatrick, a veteran still playing good football, to net a number of votes. I just didn’t think Demario Davis would get so few. I personally expected him to finish above Geno Smith. After all, Davis is coming off a strong year, while Smith is coming off a poor season. Jets fans seem to have faith in the quarterback, though. Time will tell whether they are right.
