Michael Olise’s public persona has been a topic of discussion during his time at Bayern Munich, but the picture inside the club appears to be very different than one he paints to the public.
Bayern Munich officials recently held discussions with Olise’s agent, Glen Tweneboah, about how the winger could become more comfortable representing both himself and the club publicly. The conversations reportedly focused on finding ways for Olise to take a more active role in marketing and sponsorship commitments
while also helping Bayern Munich better understand his reserved nature.
Since then, there has reportedly been increased satisfaction with Olise internally per Sport Bild (via @iMiaSanMia). The French international has made a greater effort to embrace his responsibilities away from the pitch and represent Bayern Munich in a positive manner. That effort also appears to reflect the difference between the Olise seen by the public and the player known by his teammates and colleagues.
Inside the dressing room, Olise is described as funny, well-liked and someone his teammates hold in extremely high regard. However, he reportedly takes considerable time to develop trust with people he does not know. That can make him appear distant around new teammates, club employees, supporters, and members of the media, even though those who know him better see a much more open personality.
On the football side, there appears to be little doubt about his commitment.
Olise is reportedly among the first players to arrive at Säbener Straße each day, regularly puts in additional work on the training pitch and in the gym, and is viewed internally as an extremely ambitious and professional player.
For Bayern Munich, understanding that personality seems to be just as important as helping Olise become more comfortable in the spotlight.
