This past week, I asked the following question:
What jersey numbers for our Miami Dolphins have proven to be lucky or unlucky across multiple players over the years?
Below are some of your thoughts and answers-
Phoenix6 has clearly been a fan for a good long time, like many of us.
There are many many numbers that s ucked or were successful. I pick two for discussion.
The least successful is #50…
Larry Gordon (1976-82), Jackie Shipp (1984-88), Dwight Hollier (1992-98), Olivier Vernon (2012-15)… all s ucked.
One Of — the most successful is #54…
E.J Junior (1989-91), Zach Thomas (1996-2007)… both great to greatest players.
sdphinsfan, like many of us older dudes, holds Strock in high regard for many reasons.
I’m going to go with #10. Certainly some mixed results with it, but Strock, Stoyanovich, Mare, Pennington, and Tyreek have worn it well.
Dave21 points to some of the biggest all-time Dolphins greats.
Favorite numbers for the Phins 54 & 99 followed up by 91. Other than that to me I don’t care. Yes Dick Boy Dan should have his number retired, but I also feel 54&99 should be as well. They were that good for us.
Bill Hazlett says stay away from #19…
Number 19 seems to have some bad ju-ju on it. 88 has been a good number!
PA phinphan points to a number that is generally considered bad luck, but might be the luckiest for the Phins, based on two of the all-time greats.
Other than David Woodley, and he didn’t wear it long, number 16 hasn’t been a productive number for our beloved Phins. Besides Tyler Thigpen and Woodley, nobody’s worn it for more than one season.
Obviously 13 was pretty special. Dan the Man and Jake Scott donned the “unlucky” number. But I’d say they both made it “lucky”. They were and will be the only players to wear it.
It was a bit slow, but we still had some great answers. Thank you, as always, to each of you who answers our Phinsider Question Of The Day.
