WWE NXT RESULTS AND LIVE BLOG FOR NOV. 4
Sometimes I tell myself that things are okay, another lie but it makes me feel better. Never as old as I was today, I’m gonna break down in American Pompeii, but first I’ll liveblog this here pro wrestling show for you, folks.
The show opens with WWE’s obligatory Veteran’s Day video package.
Tatum Paxley makes her entrance, flanked by the Culling as per usual.
Paxley gets on the mic and says it gives her goosebumps every time she’s announced as NXT Women’s Champion and she could hear it over and over and over again, but she knows if she wants to keep hearing it, she has to listen to her friends. Last week it didn’t really go how she planned it to and she just got carried away, poor Izzi Dame trying to protect her and…
Tatum pulls herself out of the meltdown and thanks Izzi for protecting her because that’s what best friends do, and Dame says all the Culling wants is what’s best for Paxley. She’s worked so hard for so long to be a champion, but if she wants to keep being their silly dancing goofy wonderful champion, she needs to promise to stop handing out opportunities so easy.
Paxley admits she can be impulsive and thanks the Culling for reminding her, but… spinning the wheel was really fun, right?! Izzi says the fans would be entertained by a fruit fly and asks Tatum if she wants to be champion for them or for herself. The last time she fought for them she got left abadoned and alone and then the Culling took her in and now she’s perfect!
Tatum says she’s right but asks why can’t she be a champion who does both. Dame is exasperated and says the more you defend the title the more you risk losing it and she’s treating it like a participation trophy but not everybody deserves a shot. That’s not what’s best for Paxley or for the title.
Enter Fatal Influence.
Jacy Jayne says nobody understands what Tatum’s going through more than she does, and she needs to decide now what kind of champion she’s going to be. She tells the fans to shut up before continuing, saying Tatum worked so hard for so long to get here that now she wants to prove to everybody that beating her at Halloween Havoc wasn’t a fluke, right? And the best way to do that is to be a fighting champion, right?
But she should be giving opportunities to people that earned it, who carried this division on their back all year, who’ve earned it. Izzi says too bad, Tatum’s not falling for it, right Tatum? Paxley is silent and Dame says Jayne carries no weight and Tatum has nothing to prove by beating her. Jacy says Izzi doesn’t know what holding a title means and Paxley needs to take charge of how she’s remembered as champion.
And the right thing to do is to give the former champion her rematch. Tatum says she has to be more selective and she’s absolutely going to do that… right after New York! She gives Jayne her rematch for Gold Rush in New York but says it’s the last time, for real!
Earlier, the Vanity Project are backstage with Ava Raine.
Jackson Drake thanks Ava for the opportunity to defend his Evolve Men’s Champion and Raine says Sean Legacy will love the chance to beat him.
“All Ego” Ethan Page rolls in to tell Drake not to worry about her and asks Ava if she’s congratulated his partner on becoming a double champ just like him. Raine says they have a mixed tag match next week and books a match for Chelsea Green for tonight. Green objects but All Ego says this is great because Alba Fyre can take her opponent out and make next week easier.
We see Jasper Troy and Los Americanos separately backstage to send us to break.
