Bayern Munich is close to — but has not yet wrapped up — a signing of 18-year-old midfielder Bara Sapoko Ndiaye, the Senegalese international who has already spent the Rückrunde on loan with the Bavarians and made his Bundesliga debut for Vincent Kompany’s side.
As captured by @iMiaSanMia:
Bayern are pushing to sign Bara Sapoko Ndiaye on a permanent deal. Negotiations with Gambinos Stars are ongoing, discussing the transfer fee. There’s an interest from several clubs – but the Senegalese international
wants to join Bayern. A 5-year contract is on the table, with Vincent Kompany planning with him for the long term
Apart from Ndiaye, Bayern are not planning any further signings in midfield this summer. The club intends to start the new season with Joshua Kimmich, Aleksandar Pavlović and Tom Bischof in midfield. Konrad Laimer and new signing Nathaniel Brown would be options if needed, as would Jamal Musiala and Lennart Karl in case of an emergency. Leon Goretzka’s departure will not be replaced like-for-like – instead, it will be compensated using the existing squad
Seriously…what is the hold up? It has been months since it was initially reported that Bayern were close to signing Ndiaye and the longer it drags on the more doubt starts to creep in.
At least all the signs are still positive. Ndiaye made one appearance at the Men’s World Cup, a 2-3 loss to Belgium in the Round of 32 in which he logged 26 minutes as a substitute and recorded one shot on target (fbref).
