It was roughly one week ago that rumors were flying that even folks within WWE were getting frustrated at GUNTHER’s lack of a real creative direction on Friday Night SmackDown. The word is people aren’t even sure if the company ever had a plan for the man who retired Goldberg, AJ Styles, and John Cena.
If that sounds insane, that’s because it is. Almost as insane as what they’ve got him doing on television these days.
At least in the case of this week, the answer is shocking: nothing!
Instead, he’s
the guy who was relegated to digital exclusive land this week. And wouldn’t you know it, he’s going on about friggin’ Danhausen of all people and maybe crashing his Halloween special episode next week:
GUNTHER calls Danhausen an underprivileged weirdo while saying everyone is just planning to get together to make him feel special next week. Well, he plans to make sure to be in attendance so he can do the same, in his own way.
We are gearing up for War Games, then it’s Royal Rumble season, then WrestleMania before we know it, and none of the talk surrounds the man who put John Cena on the shelf for good.
Downright promotional malpractice.
