It’s time to start preparing for the 2026 Syracuse Orange football season. We’re going through the roster to take a look at each Syracuse player as we get to know a lot of new faces for Year 3 of the Fran Brown Era.
Up next is…
Name: Rashard Perry
Position: Defensive line
Year: Senior
Height: 6’3”
Weight: 295 lbs.
Hometown: Buffalo, NY
High School/Previous College: Bennett High School
2025 stats: Played in four games; finished with four tackles (one solo, three assisted), half a sack, and a fumble recovery.
2026 projections: A season-ending injury cut Perry’s 2025 campaign short. On the one hand, he brings experience and mostly good health to the table (he played 21 games combined in 2023 and 2024). That said, his role has largely been limited, and Perry faces more competition since Syracuse added defensive line depth via the transfer portal. At the bare minimum, Perry carves out a role with a slim but possible chance of emerging as a starter if injuries really affect the unit.
How’d he get here?: Committed to the Orange in April 2022 over offers from Temple, UConn, and Buffalo. Has appeared in 26 games across three seasons for Syracuse.
What’d recruiting sites say?: Three stars on 247Sports, ESPN, and On3

Interesting nugget o’interest: Perry went to the same high school as NBA legend Bob Lainer, Dukes of Hazzard actor Sorrell Booke, and “Super Freak” singer Rick James — talk about an alumni lineup!
