With LSU just coming off their bye week, the draft stock around the team really didn’t change, so I wanted to focus on landing spots for the Tigers projected to be selected in the first round instead.
LT Jordan Seaton
One of, if not the, most important players on LSU’s roster, Jordan Seaton is bound for the top of the 2027 NFL Draft. With his athleticism and impact in both run and pass protection, Seaton will be coveted by most of the teams in the NFL. LT is one of the most important positions in football, and many
teams do not have that franchise guy that they won’t have to worry about for a decade. Seaton can be that player.
Looking at the teams that could be in for Seaton, I’ll just focus on the top-5 because that’s where he is likely going. After Texas tackle Trevor Goosby’s injury, Seaton is the lone tackle at the top of the class (for now). As of this week, the top 5 of the draft is 1. Los Angeles Chargers, 2. Tennessee Titans, 3. Miami Dolphins, 4. New York Jets, and 5. Philidelphia Eagles.
Starting with the Chargers, they are likely going to go in a different direction because tackle is not their biggest need and WR Jeremiah Smith is by far the top player in the draft. The Titans on the other hand do need an upgrade at tackle, and if they view Seaton as the second best player in the class, they will likely take him. After Tennessee, all three of the Dolphins, Jets, and Eagles can go for Seaton, but the Dolphins and Jets have needs at QB, which will over rule selecting the offensive tackle.
TE Trey’Dez Green
Unlike Seaton, Trey’Dez Green is not a top-10 lock just yet, and he is rivaled by another TE in the class. Oregon’s Jamari Johnson is also incredible and will consisdred the top TE in the class, but Green’s athleticsm may be the difference maker. Some of the plays he is able to make is truly incredible, and any team could covet him for their offense.
When trying to find potential suitors, three teams stand out: Seattle Seahawks, New England Patriots, and Kansas City Chiefs. For the Seahawks, they currently have the highest pick out of the three teams, and although that may change, adding Green to a team like this could bring them right back to the Super Bowl. Similar is true for the Patriots, and in the Chiefs case, Green could be Travis Kelce’s succesor.
