After sitting out Bayern Munich’s 3-2 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt during the weekend due to load management, Austrian star Konrad Laimer attended Monday’s training session and is expected to be ready to face Borussia Dortmund in Der Klassiker on Saturday per Sky Germany’s Kerry Hau:
Good news for FC Bayern: Konrad Laimer is taking part in team training and is set to return to the squad for the game against BVB. There is also optimism regarding Manuel Neuer, who completed a short individual session
on the pitch on Monday morning.
With Alphonso Davies out of the lineup due to a hamstring injury, Laimer’s presence will be more than welcome. The 28-year-old would seem likely to start, but it remains unclear on which side of the backline. Head coach Vincent Kompany has used Laimer at both right-back and left-back this season.
Laimer, Hiroki Itō, Josip Stanišić, Raphaël Guerreiro, and Tom Bischof could all be in the mix to start at the outside-back positions against Borussia Dortmund.
