We have our first purported leak of a United States Men’s National Team jersey for the 2026 World Cup, and if true, the goalkeepers are going to get in on the fun for once. On Friday, Opaleak released leaks of some of the bespoke goalkeeper kits that will be used by Nike teams beginning in 2026, and the USMNT goalkeeper design is one for the stars.
Gone are the generic templates that goalkeepers normally have. In its
place, Nike has designed a goalkeeper jersey that has a star design across the main part of the front. Within that, each team – including the USMNT – will have a bespoke design that will be incorporated into the streamlined star on the shirt’s core.
For the United States, the goalkeeper jersey leak that Opaleak has posted shows a jersey that is full of sublimated stars all around the main core star design. The stars are all along the top of jersey and all the way down the sleeves. The leaked jersey is green in color paired with plain green shorts and green socks. However, like in other years, the goalkeepers who make the USMNT World Cup roster will have multiple color options available for their matches in addition to the green one.
Now, none of these leaks have officially been confirmed by U.S. Soccer, but if they turn out to be true, this would be a pretty cool look for the goalkeepers. Goalkeeper jerseys are normally plain templates, and any talk about jersey designs rarely show love for the players that operate between the posts. However, goalkeepers have had some zany designs in the past. The USMNT keepers had Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle-like jersey designs for the 1994 World Cup that were memorable in more ways than one. The 2026 leaked designs could be just as memorable.
Nike will release its entire 2026 set of jerseys, including that of the USMNT, in March. For fans of goalkeepers, they will finally have a chance to show some love with a cool design for the World Cup.
