Last time we saw the Los Angeles Rams (3-2) play, they lost a game that many (including myself) thought they should’ve won, and this week they are playing another team that on paper they should beat, and so,
I am going to take the L.A. Rams over the Baltimore Ravens (1-4) by a final score 27-13.
Should the Rams be able to put up more than 27 points on Baltimore’s struggling defense? After their collapse against the Philadelphia Eagles and their rough showing against the San Francisco 49ers, I don’t know what this team is capable of, but in the NFL whether you win by 40 or by one point a win is a win, and in Week 6 the Rams need to win this one.
If the Rams do lose, then it will be a bad look for a team that people expect to make a playoff run, and with a loss, perhaps some of that postseason noise comes crashing down.
For the Ravens, if they lose and fall to 1-5, then their postseason dreams will likely be shattered (though with 17 games total, Baltimore may bounce back from a 1-5 start), but their sense of urgency has to be now or never and after getting blown out by the Houston Texans last week, I expect the Ravens to show up even if they do have as many, if not more, injuries to their starters than the 49ers had against the Rams in Week 5.
Final Score Prediction:
Rams 27, Ravens 13
Winning Factor(s)
The Ravens do not have Lamar Jackson, and though Cooper Rush is quarterbacking for the Ravens, and has been undefeated against the Rams throughout his career, that changes on Sunday as Jared Verse and the defense keep Baltimore’s offense down, while the Rams do enough (if not more) on offense to secure the win.
Preseason Prediction (AKA why preseason predictions and strength of schedule can be futile):
“Week 6 @ Baltimore Ravens: Loss. Lamar Jackson finds a way to silence L.A. as he outduels Stafford.“
