Once more unto the breach.
Today, the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears meet for the second time in 13 days with the NFC North lead on the line once again. This evening’s game takes place at Soldier Field, a rare Saturday night regular season game and another rare game between these teams with massive implications, not only in the division but across the NFC playoff race as a whole.
Interestingly, the line for this game has shifted dramatically from the beginning of the week to now. Even in the immediate
aftermath of the Packers’ loss to the Denver Broncos, Green Bay was favored for Saturday, initially giving 1.5 points. That has flipped the other way and now the Bears are 1.5-point favorites instead.
Injuries naturally have a big impact on the betting lines. Beyond the obvious — Micah Parsons’ torn ACL — several big names are in doubt for tonight’s game. Christian Watson, Josh Jacobs, Zach Tom, and Evan Williams are all questionable and each of them has been limited or a non-participant in every day of practice this week. Still, the Bears are down two of their top receivers in Rome Odunze and Luther Burden, while running back D’Andre Swift is questionable as well.
Regardless of the line and the injury situation, this is once again a fight for the top of the NFC North, just as it was two weeks ago. And just like in that game, the Packers come into the game a half-game behind the Bears with the winner of the game set to hold the #2 seed in the NFC playoff race.
Here are all of the details for tonight’s massive game.
