A pair of WWE/NXT superstars were announced for the next AAA television taping, and the match is part of the cruiserweight title picture.
AAA announced a three-way contest between Je’Von Evans, Axiom, and
Octagon Jr. for the TV taping on November 22 from Mexico City. The winner will become a contender for the AAA World Cruiserweight Championship. I think the idea is that Laredo Kid will defend the title in a multi-man bout down the line.
From an athletic standpoint, this match should be blazing. It will be interesting to see how the local crowd receives Evans and Axiom. You never can tell who will become an instant star. For example, I didn’t expect Dominik Mysterio and El Grande Americano to be so popular as fan favorites.
Laredo Kid has carried the AAA World Cruiserweight Championship for 341 days and counting. The masked luchador recently defended the title in a four-way against Jack Cartwheel, Lince Dorado, and Aerostar. The action was high-octane. Laredo Kid prevailed with a Spanish Fly variation on Cartwheel for the pin.
