Sidney Crosby has set a new Penguins record for the most combined regular season and playoff points in franchise history.
Crosby set the new record on Tuesday night with a goal during the Penguins’ 5-1
win over the Vancouver Canucks at PPG Paints Arena.
The Penguins captain now has 1,896 points in regular season and playoff games throughout his career that has spanned more than two decades.
Crosby passed Mario Lemieux on Tuesday night with Evgeni Malkin, Jaromir Jagr, and Kris Letang rounding out the top five players in points in Penguins history.
Throughout his regular season career, Crosby has scored 628 goals and 1,066 assists — and has an additional 31 goals and 60 assists in 82 playoff games.
While playoff points don’t count on the NHL’s scoring list, Crosby sits 9th all time with 1,695 points, only 28 points behind Mario Lemieux, who sits 8th on the list.
