Recently, our Matt Holder wrote about five Las Vegas Raiders who could be surprise cuts this summer.
Matt listed these players as his candidates to be potentially let go by Las Vegas after the preseason and training camp:
- Safety Isaiah Pola-Mao
- Defensive tackle Adam Butler
- Wide receiver Dont’e Thornton
- Tight end Michael Mayer
- Defensive end Malcolm Koonce
We ran a poll, asking readers to give up the player they think had the biggest chance of getting cut from the above choices.
Thornton won (well, lost) the poll, while Pola-Mao was right behind him. I get this vote. I don’t see Koonce or Mayer getting cut. Thornton started training
camp slow after the 2025 fourth-round pick had a slower than expected rookie season and has been hurt for a few weeks.
He may need to finish the preseason strong to ensure being the on the 53-man roster. Here are some of your responses:
