Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across MLB. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Cubs fans and fans across the country. Sign up here to participate in the weekly emailed surveys.
Okay, most of you didn’t like my series on contract extensions for young Cubs players.
Truth be told, you are all probably right. Those players are all under team control for some time, and thus, well, the Cubs can go year-by-year with most or all of them.
Over the next few days I will have
articles about three long-time Cubs players who all have deals expiring after 2026.
Most probably, that’s by design, as the only Cub not under team control who is currently under contract past 2026 is Dansby Swanson, who will likely be joined by Shōta Imanaga if, as expected, the Cubs pick up his option.
So which of these Cubs players would you most like to see extended past 2026? I’ll have some discussion points the next few days, but vote in this survey and the results will be posted later in the week.
