Conference play has arrived across the country as college football rolls into its fifth week of the 2025 season. Bigger matchups, rivalry games, and shifts in national rankings are on the horizon. Let’s check out what players I have my eyes on for the upcoming slate.
Caleb Downs

Ohio State’s safety stands at 6-foot and 205 pounds and is projected to be one of the top defensive players selected in the upcoming NFL Draft. Downs plays at a position of need for the New Orleans Saints, so he may very well
be the team’s first selection depending on pick order. Downs and the Buckeyes face a tough road test versus the Washington Huskies on Saturday.
Drew Allar

The Penn State Nittany Lions are hosts of the most anticipated college contest this week. PSU is squaring off with the Oregon Ducks in a game of top-6 schools. One player that Saints fans should watch closely is quarterback Drew Allar. Allar’s play in the early portion of this season has put him right in the mix for Heisman contention, with many believing his play this weekend could cement his projection as a top draft choice.
Jaeden Roberts

Jaeden Roberts is currently projected as a mid-round pick for the 2026 NFL Draft, but he possesses all the measurable talent to elevate his stock with his play this season. In Week 5, Roberts and the rest of the offensive line for the Crimson Tide will have a difficult test in slowing down an aggressive pass rush from the Georgia Bulldogs.
What are some other names you’re keeping an eye on throughout the upcoming season? Are there any players in particular that you’re hoping to see in a Saints’ uniform in 2026? Let us hear it in the comments!
