The Cleveland Browns season has seen a lot of ups and downs, mostly downs, with the quarterback position taking an outsized amount of the attention since the 2025 NFL draft included the selection of Dillon
Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders. Veteran QB Kenny Pickett seemed like the team’s likely starter before he was injured and traded. QB Joe Flacco took the starting role to start the season before being benched and traded.
Gabriel took over in Week 5 in London but has struggled mostly with a concussion, leading to Sanders’ debut in Week 11 and first start in Week 12.
Not everything was perfect in Sanders’ first start, but even with Gabriel cleared from concussion protocol, the fifth-round rookie out of Colorado will remain the Browns starter in Week 13:
Sanders completed 11 of 20 passes with one touchdown and one interception against the Las Vegas Raiders. HC Kevin Stefanski is looking forward to Sanders’ development moving forward:
A highly touted player coming out in the NFL draft, Sanders’ fall in the draft was surprising, but the Colorado star now has a chance to prove the rest of the league wrong, potentially as Cleveland’s starter for the rest of the season.
