What is the story about?
Another
uninspiring day for the Phillies, another loss for a series. The Diamondbacks are one of those pesky teams that cannot be allowed to hang around at all, lest they get a chance to chip away. Unfortunately, the Phillies ran into some strange outs to thwart comebacks they could have attempted. They’ll get another chance at home with the Cubs coming in.
On to the links.
Phillies news:
- Taijuan Walker stinks in the first inning of his starts. The team should try something new to help him get over that hump ($).
- Andrew Painter was going to miss his start Sunday with a migraine, but turned in a solid relief performance instead.
MLB news:
- Nick Pivetta had to leave his start early Sunday with right elbow stiffness. They will take some tests on that elbow.
- Another rough injury, Christian Yelich had to leave his game with a hamstring injury. Pat Murphy said he’s not expecting good news.
- Ol’ Scrap Iron himself has now passed on. Phil Garner passed away yesterday at age 76. He was an underrated player.
- George Springer has a broken toe. He’s on the injured list now as well.
