Newcastle United right-backs Kieran Trippier and Emil Krafth are likely to leave when their contracts expire, while Tino Livramento has two years remaining and has not yet shown any desire to extend his deal, perhaps hinting at his real goal being a move to a bigger club.
According to the Daily Mail’s Craig Hope, there is strong interest from Manchester City in Livramento and Newcastle will, in fact, consider bids for the England international as well as they fit the value they place on him.
At left-back,
Lewis Hall is expected to discuss improved terms after a strong campaign with the Magpies and a likely call-up for the World Cup, if not outright starting for the Three Lions in America. Even then—let alone if he is sold this summer—cover is required to add depth to a depleted unit.
Newcastle’s recruitment staff was reportedly present at Brentford versus Wolves this week, scouting Wolves left-back Hugo Bueno, per Hope.
The report also names Brentford’s Michael Kayode as one player being monitored, too.
Hope previously reported Newcastle’s interest in Bueno during a prior Q&A session, writing, “From right wing to left back, another player I know they have been impressed with is Hugo Bueno of Wolves. If Wolves are relegated, as is extremely likely, Bueno would probably feature highly on the list of options to strengthen a position in need of depth beyond the brilliant Lewis Hall.”
No bids for either of these two have been reported to date.
