Floyd Mayweather and Mike Tyson were supposed to be fighting at the end of April.
Why they’re fighting at all remains a mystery. I guess there’s a portion of the combat sports fan base that somehow finds enjoyment in watching a decrepit, 60-year-old heavyweight clomp around the ring, even after this embarrassing spectacle back in late 2024.
Turns out “Iron” broke his hand in training (cue the Osteoporosis jokes).
“Tyson and Mayweather will have a short moment to wait while Tyson fully recovers from
a broken hand he injured during training,” CSI Sports wrote in the recent press release.
“Tyson, who was seen sporting a cast while he continues to work through a smooth recovery, is looking forward to the fight that will be rescheduled to a date in the fall of 2026. The date, venue and broadcast plans will be announced shortly.”
I guess CSI Sports forgot to check its calendar.
Mayweather already has a fight booked for fall 2026. “Money” is scheduled to rematch Manny Pacquiao on Sept. 25 in Las Vegas as part of his “help me get out of tax debt” tour, which also features this pointless exhibition. I guess we’ll have to wait and see how the next few months play out, but it’s not looking good.
