A day after the Cleveland Browns were spurned by DE Jadeveon Clowney, GM Andrew Berry is right back on the transaction wire, adding a defender. On Monday, before the start of Week 2 of training camp practice, Berry and the Browns added DT Travis Bell to the roster and waived UDFA RB TJ Harden from the 90-man roster.
Harden was among 12 undrafted free agents that Cleveland signed at the start of the offseason. The SMU star was “an absolute tank in the ACC last season” and seemed to have a chance to make
the team’s 53-man roster with his pass-catching ability. The Browns didn’t see enough out of him to carry him even into the second week of training camp.
Bell was a seventh-round selection by the Chicago Bears in 2023. He played two games with the Atlanta Falcons and last year in the UFL, as well as spending time on the Minnesota Vikings roster. While his NFL stats are limited (2 tackles in 2 games), Bell produced in the UFL with 39 tackles, six tackles for loss, a sack, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery in 12 games for the Louisville Kings.
