The Wisconsin Badgers have already started their due diligence in the transfer portal, landing a commitment from JUCO linebacker Taylor Schaefer.
Well, they’re continuing to scour the early market for potential
fits, and one big position of need is at wide receiver. Wisconsin already needed to boost the talent in the room, but they’re currently projected to lose Vinny Anthony, Jayden Ballard, Trech Kekahuna, Kyan-Berry Johnson, and Joseph Griffin Jr.
While a couple of those players didn’t see much playing time in 2025, the Badgers need both starting-caliber talent and just numbers to fill out the room.
One potential option is University of West Florida transfer wide receiver Corey Scott, who announced an offer from the Badgers on Friday. Scott, a 6’1, 180-pound wideout, was a redshirt sophomore this season, catching 63 passes for 1,018 yards and four touchdowns.
That followed up his redshirt freshman campaign in 2024, where Scott had 34 receptions for 629 yards and five touchdowns. As a result, he was named Co-Offensive Freshman of the Year and was a first-team All-GSC selection.
Scott has announced offers from a plethora of schools, including Minnesota, Iowa, and others.
Of course, a ton of the action will come after the transfer portal officially opens on January 2nd, but the Badgers are already looking into wide receiver candidates, with Scott being an option.
