Tennessee basketball returns home this evening to face LSU, one of the worst teams in the SEC. The Volunteers bounced back from another disappointing result against Kentucky last weekend, beating Mississippi State on the road. Tennessee now sits 7-4 in conference play, still with an outside chance at contending for an SEC regular season title.
LSU is just 2-9 in conference play. Head coach Matt McMahon finds himself on the hot seat entering the final month of the season.
“They’ve had to deal with injuries,
which always sets everybody back,” Rick Barnes said of LSU. “And just the fact that they continue to play really, really hard. He’s going to have them ready to play like he always does. And they will do some different things defensively that will present problems, and if we don’t take care of the ball, they’ll take advantage of it.”
Tennessee will go dark mode tonight, wearing their all black look at home for the first time this season.
