Well, this is going to suck.
It isn’t going to suck because of what could or happen during today’s game. This isn’t going to suck because UNC is playing in Cameron Indoor Stadium, where the Cameron Crazies are just as blue and loud as ever. No, this is going to suck because we will not see Caleb Wilson join his teammates as an active player, and we all know that he was highly motivated to play in this game. It’s painful to know how much he cares about this game, his team, and of course, his coach,
but he cannot do anything about it.
Regardless, life goes on, and UNC does have to find a way to deal with the Blue Devils, who will be extremely motivated to take them down after losing at the Dean Dome via a buzzer beater from Seth Trimble. Duke has bene playing out of their minds lately, beating everyone that they played after the Heels by an average of 20 points. The Heels do still have enough to compete, but whether or not they have enough to win depends. Will Seth Trimble, Henri Veesaar, and Luka Bogavac be the better versions of themselves for this one? Will Jarin Stevenson and Derek Dixon contribute? What about Zayden High, who will continue his new role as the first big off the bench? We will find out in a matter of minutes.
Win or lose, we do know this: UNC will keep their double bye in the ACC Tournament, they are a lock for the NCAA Tournament, and they will have one more chance to pad their resume next week in Charlotte. Still, UNC would love nothing more than to beat Duke in Cameron, and if they were able to do that, we could see their resume look good enough to begin discussing a potential four seed situation.
That said, feel free to hang out with us in the comments section, and as always, we will be back after the game with post-game analysis and takes. Until then, Go Heels!
