In taking down Union Saint-Gilloise 2-0, Bayern Munich clinched its 250th victory in the European Cup / Champions League competition.
The Bavarians were fueled by a brace from Harry Kane, who was one of the lone bright spots on the day for Bayern Munich. The game did not feature the normal dazzling and relentless attack of the Bavarians, but was instead marred by uninspired and sometimes sloppy play. Many fans were frustrated by the end of the scoreless first half, but the Bavarians were able to eventually
get it together (somewhat).
In the end, however, there was only one thing that truly mattered — getting the victory:
Bayern have won their 250th match in the European Cup / Champions League.
Bayern Munich did have to finish the game with 10-men after Kim Min-jae picked up his second yellow card of the match in the 63rd minute. That complicated things, but did not prevent the Bavarians from getting the historic victory.
