AEW rolled into Arizona Financial Theater in Phoenix, Arizona, for yesterday’s Maximum Carnage episode of Dynamite, where they also taped this Saturday’s (Jan. 17) episode of Collision.
AEW has advertised
multiple matches for Maximum Carnage on Saturday night. Let’s see how the results panned out, courtesy of spoilers from Wrestling Observer Radio.
- Hangman Page & JetSpeed defeated The Opps to become the new AEW world trios champions. This was reportedly Powerhouse Hobbs last match in AEW before becoming a free agent at midnight. Swerve Strickland and Prince Nana came out afterwards to congratulate the new champs.
- Tony Schiavone interviewed FTR and Stokely Hathaway, who praised Don Callis Family members Jake Doyle and Mark Davis for becoming the number one contenders to their AEW world tag team championship.
- Andrade made his in-ring return to AEW, picking up a win over Angelico.
- Ortiz & Eddie Kingston defeated Grizzled Young Vets.
- Marina Shafir defeated Zayda Steel, with Jon Moxley on commentary. The Don Callis Family attacked Moxley afterwards; the Death Riders made the save.
- El Clon, Kyle Fletcher & Josh Alexander were victorious in a trios match against SkyFlight. Konosuke Takeshita then came out for a post-match angle, where he hugged Fletcher but shunned Don Callis.
- Penelope Ford returned from the injured list to win a tag team match with Megan Bayne against Viva Van and Danielle Kamela (former NXT star Vanessa Borne). After the match was over, Timeless Toni Storm and Mina Shirakawa confronted Ford and Bayne.
- “Jungle” Jack Perry defeated Anthony Bowens. AEW Continental Champion Ricochet attacked Perry afterwards, ending the show with a brawl.
