The international title scene was put on hold in TNA when reigning champion Mustafa Ali suffered a punctured lung and fractured ribs in a cage match at Lockdown. One month later, Ali will be back in action to defend the TNA International Championship in a banger on the live episode of Impact on Thursday, September 24 from San Antonio, Texas.
TNA announced Ali in a three-way title bout against Jason Hotch and Trey Miguel. Ali commented on social media, “Rolls out of hospital bed and right into main
event.”
Ali rose for the opportunity in a stylish vignette channeling Dragon Ball Z.
Not only will this match be stacked with athleticism, there is also a hot angle of revenge from both Hotch and Miguel. Trey suffered an injury of his own when losing the title to Ali. He is back and in prime form. Hotch is a former member of Order 4. He took the shot to challenge Ali (against the boss’ wishes) and won the gold. Not to mention that Ali made unsavory scumbag moves toward Hotch’s wife.
With Ali out, TNA held a #1 contender match between Hotch and Miguel. They put on a show, but Agent Zero inferred in the end, presumably at the orders of Ali. The match was thrown out, and now Ali has to face both men at the same time on Impact.
