The lineup is out!
And not a lot has changed since yesterday’s Guardians finale lineup, which could be a good thing as long as the production carries over from the recent results.
The leadoff spot is still Jurickson Profar’s at the moment, and the following two slots with Matt Olson and Ronald Acuña Jr. are the same as well. Drake Baldwin will be taking over the catcher position in the fourth hole, and Braves fans are hoping that Sean Murphy
will work out whatever slumps he’s experiencing before his return to the position.
Which could most likely be as early as tomorrow, with the constant catching swaps, Manager Brian Snitker shuffles daily.
The rest of the lineup is a replica of yesterday’s, with Spencer Strider taking the mound and looking for an answer to his pitching woes.
The Whitesox have also dropped their lineup.
Besides shuffling up their order a bit, they’ve adjusted a few of their players in different positions as well.
Andrew Benintendi (.209/.293/.355) will be taking over DH rather than left field, which will put Kyle Teel (the previous DH) as catcher, currently holding a .694 OPS this season.
Luis Robert Jr. (.304/.374/.451) will be the team’s centerfielder, while Brooks Baldwin (.259/.310/.457) will take over left field.
Coming off players’ weekend and, of course, a sweep to extend the Braves’ win to five games is a pretty neat spot to enter this matchup with.
Can the Braves take this one as well and open this series with a bang?
Well… as I always say, I guess we’ll find out in a few hours.
First pitch is set for 7:15 p.m. ET
