This behavior from a host nation government official cheering on the exit of a team in the tournament is pretty beyond the pale:
[U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin] admitted during a World Cup security briefing: “I’m just glad they’re done, and they’re not coming back.
“I was so happy when we were able to pull their visas and said they could leave the U.S. soil, and I might’ve sung a song or two or maybe even danced a happy dance.”
Is this who Americans are now? That’s a question for each American to answer for themselves.
