According to Baseball America’s Jacob Rudner, Gonzaga Bulldogs freshman right-handed pitcher Landon Hood is in the NCAA transfer portal with a do-not-contact tag. He joins redshirt junior third baseman Mikey Bell as the two Zags to leave the program.
Hood is the No. 73-ranked prospect for the 2028 MLB Draft, thanks to his average 96 miles per hour fastball and supercharged changeup.
With a 3-1 record and five saves, the Goodyear, Arizona, native finished with a 2.48 earned run average, 78 strikeouts, and 21 walks in 54.2 innings pitched. He made appearances for coach Mark Machtolf both out of the bullpen and as a starter.
The West Coast Conference Freshman of the Year finished No. 9 in all of college baseball in WHIP at .98.
The portal officially opens on June 1. It will be open for a 30-day window and close on June 30.
