The Pittsburgh Steelers have released safety Rayshawn Jenkins, the team announced Wednesday.
The Steelers signed Jenkins on August 1 after releasing Darnell Savage. He appeared in all six games for the Steelers this season, although his role took a significant step backward after the loss to the Cleveland Browns. In six games, Jenkins had 16 tackles.
This could be a sign that the Steelers will get DeShon Elliott back after he missed the first six games due to a knee injury. Elliott began the season
on IR, which caused him to miss the first four games. The Steelers opened his activation window on October 8.
Pittsburgh will face the New Orleans Saints in Paris to kickoff the Sunday slate of games. It is the first NFL game to take place in Paris.
