Harry Kane has done it! The Bayern Munich striker has been awarded the 2026 Ballon d’Or, becoming the fourth Bayern player to achieve the feat—following Gerd Müller, Franz Beckenbauer, and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge — after an astounding campaign for club and country.
In the 2025/26 season, Kane scored 73 goals in 65 appearances for Bayern Munich and the England national team, helping Die Roten secure the Bundesliga title, the DFB-Pokal, and the German Supercup. Kane becomes the first Englishman to win
the award since Michael Owen in 2001. With the England national team at the recent FIFA World Cup, he scored six goals in seven games before being eliminated by Argentina in the semifinals.
Kane spent much of his career playing for Tottenham Hotspur, where he showcased his world-class quality, becoming the club’s all-time leading scorer with 280 goals in 435 appearances. He then transferred to Bayern Munich in 2023 with the hopes of winning his first major trophy, something that had eluded him in England. Since then, Kane has scored 127 goals and won 4 major trophies—two Bundesliga titles, one DFB-Pokal, and one DFL-Supercup.
