The First Round of our March Madness style Best Things Ever Tournament has rounded the turn. We’ve voted on multiple candidates in preparation for unveiling the second-round bracket on our way to an eventual winner of the Best Thing Ever in 2026.
For those unfamiliar, each day we’re asking you to choose between two cool things. The item with the most votes in each post will advance. It’s a fun and silly way to pass time during the slow summer months of NBA vacation.

Tom Hanks is one of the biggest movie stars of the modern era. From humble, comic beginnings he rose through Big to When Harry Met Sally, Philadelphia, Forrest Gump, and dozens of others. He’s easily one of the most recognizable and likable stars in cinema history.
But hey, toothpaste…what would we do without it? Gels, powders, tube-squeezing. Minty-fresh breath and cavity-fighting? It makes its own argument persuasively.
