WHY LSU 51 Clemson 10 Made Me Happy
Yes, I know. Lane Kiffen is trying to destroy the game, the rat bastard.
But is he really?
The quick recap – Lane wants to bring back a couple players who got cut by NFL teams to the LSU roster. They technically have a year of college eligibility left since they got a stay in court to give them a 5th year of eligibility when the 2026 school year ended and they had only played four and were not given a 5th.
The SEC threatened hell and damnation, so Lane & LSU backed off it – for now.
But – Lane, to me,
is doing his job trying to win football games and embracing the new state of college football – portal, NIL, rev-share, all of it, and doing his level best to get that cash in his players hands, bring in the best from other schools and whatever else it takes.
On the other hand, we have Dabo Swinney.
He was monstrously successful at Clemson in the last years of the bags left on players’ porches days and thrived having control over them while making $10M+ per season. He fully believed they should be grateful for their scholarships and loved then needing his permission transfer. We know this because he hasn’t stopped bitching since the current era began, and recruiting had slid downhill steadily. And why wouldn’t it, when the guy recruiting you thinks he deserves 8-figures and you deserve $20-30K?
SO anyway – that’s my quick explanation why LSU 51 Clemson 10, Swinney’s seat immediately to blazing brought me joy.
On to the vibes:
- I know I usually have the team injury report pre-game, but that won’t happen until the Michigan State game. Why? I’ll explain quickly.
- First off, the biggest news on the injury front is that Owen Chambliss is healthy and ready to – he should make his debut with a blackshirt and a starting assignment.
- Now, the Big 10 Availability Report – to avoid USC-type shenanigans, perhaps – teams will be required to submit reports by 8pm Wed, Thu and Fri nights, then 2 hours before kickoff on Saturdays. I’ll be loading up that Saturday report for you moving forward, but will try to put earlier announcements which might be of interest in The Feed. All that being said, the B1G will only be doing these reports once conference play starts.
- The ladies struggled a little early and lost their first set of the year, but stormed back to remain undefeated.
- And while we’re at it, “way more talent” Oregon…struggled today. Big year so far for 0-12 and 1-11 teams from 2025.
