The NFL schedule has officially reached Week 1 of the 2026 regular season. Games start on Wednesday night with a Super Bowl rematch between the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks. For the Miami Dolphins, Week 1 kicks off on Sunday afternoon when they visit the Las Vegas Raiders. The season is almost here, but are the Dolphins ready for the 18-week, 17-game grind?
According to fans, several major concerns loom as the season approaches. In our recent SB Nation Reacts survey, we asked which
position group concerns fans most for the Dolphins after last week’s roster cuts. The defensive secondary, which includes cornerbacks and safeties, dominated the poll with 60 percent of the vote. Offensive line, a constant area of concern for Miami, ranked second, though it was a distant runner-up with just 15 percent of responses. Edge, wide receiver, and special teams rounded out the vote with 13-, 8-, and 5-percent of the vote, respectively.
We also recently asked which second-year player you think will make take the biggest jump forward this season, and again, the results were overwhelming. After a rookie season where he struggled at left guard, Jonah Savaiinaea has moved to right guard this year and the fans think he will blossom there. With 65 percent of the vote, Savaiinaea is clearly the player the Dolphins’ fans think will take the biggest jump.
Safety Dante Trader, Jr., was second in the poll, receiving 15 percent of the vote, followed by defensive tackles Kenneth Grant at nine percent and Zeek Biggers at seven percent. Running back Ollie Gordon II rounds out the survey with four percent of the vote.
The Dolphins will need a lot to go right this year, with several second-year players making a leap forward and position groups like the secondary proving themselves, if they are going to have success in 2026. Miami remains +75,000 to win the Super Bowl, according to the FanDuel Sportsbook oddmakers, the second longest odds in the league. Can the Dolphins shock the world?
