This week’s edition of playing out the Green Bay Packers’ game-day roster decisions will be much simpler than past ones, since there are fewer moving parts. The Packers have already ruled out four players for Thursday Night Football against the Atlanta Falcons, and they’re at positions where they were already “oversigned,” so their roster can withstand the numbers there. The only question is how the team will use their final inactive spot, or if both of their questionable players (DL Anthony Campbell
and Javon Hargrave) will both miss the game.
If that happens, the Packers will probably need to call up Eric Johnson II from the practice squad, despite him just arriving in Green Bay last week. That’s really it! Below is what the Packers’ roster will likely look like, unless they throw a curveball at us.
Quarterback
- In: Jordan Love and Tyrod Taylor
- Out: None
Running Back
- In: Chris Brooks, Kaleb Johnson and MarShawn Lloyd
- Out: None
Receiver
- In: Christian Watson (Z), Matthew Golden (X), Skyy Moore (slot), Bo Melton (X) and J. Michael Sturdivant (Z)
- Out: Jayden Reed (injury)
The Packers’ receiver room has been very rigid dating back to the preseason, with players firmly locked into Z, X and slot positions. With Jayden Reed out, Skyy Moore is the backup slot on the team and is expected to fill in the snaps that Reed played. With that being said, though, now that push has come to shove, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Bo Melton, who is usually Matthew Golden’s direct backup at the X position, splitting some time with Moore and taking over some slot reps.
Tight End
- In: Tucker Kraft, Mark Redman, Jonnu Smith and Josh Whyle
- Out: None
Offensive Line
- In: Jorgan Morgan (LT), Donovan Jennings (LG), Sean Rhyan (C), Jacob Monk (RG), Anthony Belton (RT), Jager Burton (G/C), John Williams (T/G/C) and Travis Glover (T/G)
- Out: Zach Bako-Bewele (injury) and Aaron Banks (injury)
This will likely be Travis Glover’s first active game of the 2026 season. John Williams was active in Week 1, when Aaron Banks was ruled out, but was a healthy scratch in Week 2 (along with Glover), as Banks was able to suit up for the game before eventually going down with a toe injury.
Defensive Line
- In: Devonte Wyatt, Karl Brooks, Jonathan Ford and Chris McClellan
- Out: Warren Brinson (injury)
- One of three will play: Javon Hargrave (injury), Anthony Campbell (injury) or Eric Johnson II (practice squad)
The only real decision this week is who the 48th man will be, and that player will almost certainly come down to a defensive lineman, as there are only four certain “goes” on the 53-man roster — leaving the Packers with just one sub at the position when they play base defense.
Edge Defender
- In: Lukas Van Ness, Barryn Sorrell, Brenton Cox Jr. and Dani Dennis-Sutton
- Out: None
Off-Ball Linebacker
- In: Zaire Franklin, Edgerrin Cooper, Isaiah McDuffie, Ty’Ron Hopper and Nick Niemann
- Out: None
Cornerback
- In: Keisean Nixon, Brandon Cisse, Carrington Valentine, Benjamin St-Juste and Kamal Hadden
- Out: None
Safety
- In: Xavier McKinney, Evan Williams, Javon Bullard and Kitan Oladapo
- Out: None
Specialists
- In: K Trey Smack, P Daniel Whelan and LS Matt Orzech
- Out: None

Maybe the only benefit to the Packers’ injuries this year is that it’s made it easy to predict their Week 3 48-man game-day roster. It just comes down to who the fifth defensive lineman will be.
