According to a report from Bild (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), Bayern Munich’s supervisory board members were preparing for Max Eberl to resign:
During last week’s supervisory board meeting, the supervisory board members (Herbert Hainer, Uli Hoeneß, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge) had the impression that Max Eberl was prepared for his departure, that was the impression he conveyed. There has been a rumor surrounding the club for some time that Eberl’s time will be over in October.
Recently, there have been positive
voices within the club about Eberl’s work. But from Eberl’s perspective, it was the supervisory board that made his work more difficult with the imposed austerity measures and the loan-only policy at the end of the transfer window. Eberl also feels publicly and internally held accountable for things that go wrong, for which he believes he has little or no control.
Yikes.
According to Sky Germany journalist Kerry Hau (via @iMiaSanMia), though, Eberl is not going to leave but does plan on taking a few days off to recharge once all of the transfer dealings close:
Max Eberl is planning to stay at Bayern. He currently has no thoughts of resignation. Eberl will take a few days off after the end of the transfer window and then will resume his work.
An in-season vacation during an international break? What’s the worst that can happen?
