Day 1 of the 2026 Winter Meetings was ice cold in terms of actual moves. However, there were, as expected, plenty of rumors going around in Orlando. For the Braves, there was a bit of news in the minor league signing of reliever James Karinchak. But overall, the biggest news of the day was former Brave Michael Soroka signing a one-year deal with Arizona.
However, Tuesday will certainly be of interest to Braves country. This is mainly due to the 2026 MLB Draft Lottery, in which the Braves have the 6th
best odds to land the top pick in the draft. Atlanta also has some very good odds to at least land a top 5 pick in the draft, so gaining knowledge of where they will actually pick could give us an idea of some names they could target next year.
But overall, the hope has to be that that more actual news will occur today with the Winter Meetings in full process.
