For someone whose legal middle name is ‘ESPN,’ it’s no surprise he produced a litany of SportsCenter Top 10 worthy highlights during a one-year stint at Bowling Green.
The Falcons’ star inside linebacker
Gideon ESPN Lampron completed a transfer to Colorado for his final year of eligibility. Lampron is fresh off a First Team All-MAC caliber season where he generated 119 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, and a pair of forced fumbles.
Lampron’s 119 tackles are 16th in the entire FBS and third in the MAC, serving as one of the top run-stoppers in college football. He attained double-digit tackles in seven of his last nine games as a Falcon, enjoying his best performance in a thrilling Battle of I-75 upset win over arch rival Toledo. In that contest, Lampron contributed to a 0-point second half from Toledo’s offense, collecting 13 tackles (10 solo) and 3.5 tackles for loss, providing the Bowling Green offense enough opportunities to storm back down 21.
Lampron arrived to Bowling Green after spending three seasons at Dayton in the FCS ranks (2022-24). He appeared in 24 games for the Flyers, taking a leap to FCS All-American status in 2024, ranking first in the entire subdivision with 2.1 tackles for loss per game. Lampron also checked in at fifth in the FCS in sacks among linebackers, putting enough highlights on film to make him a coveted addition to Bowling Green’s defense.
His stint in the MAC was short and sweet, and now the LaGrange, OH native ventures west to the Rocky Mountains to play under Deion Sanders at Colorado. Bowling Green also lost fifth-leading tackler and linebacker Caden Marshall to SMU in the portal, as well as cornerbacks Keyon Washington (Iowa State) and MJ Cannon (Cincinnati). Eddie George and his staff look to replenish the defense for 2026, perhaps targeting the FCS ranks to find the next Lampron.
